Becoming a Governor

Trustees and Governors are volunteers who help Multi Academy Trusts and its schools achieve the highest possible standards of education achievement. They come from all walks of life and bring a range of skills and perspectives to the role.

Being a Trustee or Governor is a great way to have a positive impact on your community, by making a difference to the lives of its children. You’ll help steer your academy, establish its vision and ethos and challenge staff to deliver on targets. You will join a team committed to improving the lives and prospects of young people.

Keys Co-operative Academies Trust will support you in your new role providing training, expert advice and ongoing support throughout every governor’s term of office.

All Trustees/Governors will undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check before they start (organised by KCAT) and you must be over 18 and living in the UK.

If you’d like an informal chat or have any questions about becoming a Trustee or Governor, before completing our online form, please contact us at governance@kcat.co.uk
