As CEO, Philomena is responsible setting and achieving high academic standards of attainment and progress throughout the trust and creating aspirational life opportunities for all our students. This includes leading the development and review of the trust’s vision with key stakeholders, articulating the vision for the MAT and actively promoting it.
As the most senior leader in the organisation, Philomena is responsible for the quality, administration and organisation of the leaders working for the trust, both within the executive team and also in each academy.
Philomena is also a Trustee and sits on the Trust’s Board, acting as a direct liaison between the Board and management of the Trust.
Previously Philomena worked as an adviser for Essex County Council for two years, was a Deputy Head in a mainstream secondary school for 8 years and has been a teacher for over 20 years in a variety of mainstream schools. She successfully led Heybridge to Outstanding in 2015 and achieved a Good for North East in 2014 for the first time in the school’s history. She is currently a member of Essex Schools Forum.
Chief Operating and Financial Officer
As COFO, Kevin is responsible for overseeing all the operational and financial matters across the Mult-Academy Trust. This includes having responsibility for managing the Trust's finances; including financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, financial reporting and ensuring compliance with company law and academy financial regulations. In addition to his responsibilities as CFO, Kevin is also responsible for all other non-curriculum operations, including the management of HR, Payroll, Premises, ICT and management of the central administration support teams.
Kevin has worked for Keys Co-operative Academy Trust since April 2017 - prior to academy conversion. In Kevin’s first 6 months, he led the academy conversion of the two founding schools and incorporation of the Academy Trust.
Kevin is also a qualified teacher and was previously employed as the Head of Education in three prisons in the East of England and has also been a lecturer of mathematics in a Large Further Education College.
Trust Systems and IT Manager
As Trust Systems and IT Manager, George is responsible for ensuring that all IT Systems and network infrastructure are fit for purpose, runs efficiently, is secure and backed up in all schools across the Trust. This includes the running, organising and development of the IT Support team and development and maintenance of the computing and telephony facilities across all schools in the Trust. George works with senior leaders across the Trust to monitor and review the effectiveness of computing equipment and he maintains the Trust’s IT development and asset management plan.
George has worked for Keys Co-operative Academy Trust since 2012, when he worked for Heybridge Alternative Provision School (now Heybridge Co-operative Academy) as the IT Technician before progressing in to his current role.
Sharon De Silva
Trust HR Officer
As HR Officer, Sharon is responsible for accurately maintaining the personnel data for all employees of the Trust. She also provides efficient end to end support with the recruitment process, including maintaining the Single Central Record which involves completing all the necessary pre-employment checks required by the safer-recruitment policy.
Sharon has worked for Keys Co-operative Academy Trust since November 2011, when she worked in the School Admin office at Heybridge Alternative Provision School (now Heybridge Co-operative Academy).
Sharon has a strong administration background having previously worked for the Local Authority, since 2008 and previously for a couple of recruitment agencies, where she gained valuable HR experience.
Trust Finance Officer
As the Trust’s Finance Officer, Jo is responsible for the development, operation and day to day management of the financial functions of the Trust and all its academies. This includes managing effective systems of internal control in accordance with Academy Financial Regulations.
Jo contributes significantly to the preparation of the annual budget for the Trust and In conjunction with the COFO, Jo is responsible for advising Headteachers, Senior Management Teams, Board of Trustees and Governing Body on all aspects of the Trust/Academies finances, regularly producing a reports on the individual academy and trust-wide financial performance.
Jo has worked for Keys Co-operative Academy Trust since April 2018, joining during the first year as an Academy Trust.
Trust Facilities and Health and Safety Manager
As the Trust’s Facilities and Health and Safety Manager, Terry is responsible for the supervision of all the site maintenance and services in order to maintain a healthy and safe environment for students, staff and other users of all Keys Co-operative Academy Trust premises.
Terry is responsible for implementing a planned repair and maintenance programme at each location and Terry also takes a lead role in monitoring, maintaining the Trust’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Terry has worked for Keys Co-operative Academy Trust since April 2018, joining during the first year as an Academy Trust. Previously worked as facilities and front of house manager for 13 years at the Queens Theatre in Hornchurch and Terry has also been a drama tutor for over 25 years, which he does in his spare time.
Trust Admissions and Attendance Officer
As the Trust Admission and Attendance Officer, Lynsey is responsible for co-ordinating the Positive Referral Admissions Panels and liaises with schools, staff, parents and carers and other agencies and works closely with SLT on matter associated with admissions and attendance.
Lynsey has oversight on all school attendance issues and converses with Head of School SLT and Home School Liaison Officers with regard to improving attendance and addressing any individual attendance issues with students.
Lynsey has worked for the Local Authority since 1992 in the Education sector and therefore has an in depth knowledge of attendance and admissions. She worked as Admin in Statutory Assessment Service, Caseworker in Pupil Support Service and was an Education Welfare Officer and has worked as Admissions & Attendance Officer for the Trust since it formed in September 2017 having previously worked for Heybridge Alternative Provision in the same role.
Senior Trust Data Officer (Trust Data)
As Data Officer for the Trust Emma is responsible for the day-to-day running and use of the Trusts Management Information System (SIMS). Emma will provide advice and guidance on the Trusts MIS and data capabilities and processes.
One of Emma’s main roles is to provide SLT with reports and analysis after each data drop that will support the Trusts Development Plan each term. She is also able to produce customised reports and analysis on an ad hoc basis for all staff in a user friendly and easy to interpret manner.
Emma will liaise other staff to complete the appropriate return of information to the DfE, such as the School Census. She will make the appropriate preparations to ensure that the Trusts Management information system is ready for the beginning of each academic year and also provide advice and guidance on the Trusts MIS and data capabilities to colleagues.
Emma has worked for Keys Co-operative Academy Trust since August 2017 and previously worked at two large mainstream secondary schools since 2001, where she gained a wealth of experience in School Management Information Systems.
Trust Data Officer (Alternative Provision)
Fran has worked as Data Officer for the Trust (formally at Heybridge APS) since May 2015 and was brought in to create the role of Data Officer within Heybridge APS.
She has developed and expanded the school SIMS database to capture data consistently and produce multiple reports for students, staff and stakeholders. She has also developed the tracking systems for monitoring progress towards the end of school exam results and has been part of a number of focus groups with staff and students to develop non-academic progress throughout the school.
She works closely with Emma to provide the required reports and develop the Trust MIS system to provide accurate and meaningful data.
Fran has previously worked as a Helplines Coordinator for a national children’s charity and she has recently returned to the Trust following maternity leave.
Finance & HR Assistant
Callum provides support to the finance and HR officers assisting with the administration of a range of finance procedures and with personnel records and data.
Callum is currently undertaking a Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration whilst he is working with Keys Co-operative Academy Trust.
